Aircraft Extension drill bits are similar in length to extra length bits, emphasizing reach over cutting depth, and have a shorter flute length (about the same as a jobber drill). This makes the bit much stronger and less susceptible to bending and breaking.

These special purpose Plexi-Point Drills are designed to cut plexiglass, polycarbonate, and other acrylic plastics. The cutting angles are reduced to keep the drill from biting into the plexiglass too fast. This point produces a clean hole and prevents the drill from breaking the plexiglass when drilling through the backside.
