Hose barbs are cylindrical pieces or parts for attaching and securing of hoses (tubing). The barb-like rings on the cylindrical piece allow for an easy push-connection of flexible-plastic or rubber tubing that is not so easily disconnected. These Lock-On Barbs can be installed in the field with no tools, clamps or ferrules. JIC fittings, defined by the SAE J514 and MIL-DTL-18866 standards, are a type of flare fitting machined with a 37° flare seating surface.

Ferrules
A brass ferrule is a small bracelet which is commonly used for fastening, joining or reinforcing cables and polythene tubing. Stamping is the process of placing flat sheet metal in either blank or coil form into a stamping press where a tool and die surface forms the metal into a net shape. Note: For best results choose a Ferrule with an I.D. approximately .030" larger than the O.D. of your hose.
