Hose splicers are a common connecting piece that can be used when you need to extend your hose/tube or repair a damaged segment. They are easy to use and come in really handy if you need a quick extension. The best way to use a hose splicer would be slipping the tubing over its barbs and then securing the connection with a clamp.

Hose barbs are cylindrical pieces or parts for attaching and securing of hoses (tubing). The barb-like rings on the cylindrical piece allow for an easy push-connection of flexible-plastic or rubber tubing that is not so easily disconnected. These Lock-On Barbs can be installed in the field with no tools, clamps or ferrules. JIC fittings, defined by the SAE J514 and MIL-DTL-18866 standards, are a type of flare fitting machined with a 37° flare seating surface.
